There is something quite sensible about industrial kitchen style. It only seems appropriate that the clean lines of the cookware used in the room is mimicked in the design. However, as with most industrial looks it can also look cold and severe. These two kitchens are great examples of how adding certain elements can temper this.

The addition of the worn wood accents in the floor and the column instantly add warmth and charm, as do the visually interesting light fixtures. I actually can't stop thinking about the pendant fixture in the above image and have added this similar one from the Kara Mann showroom to my wish list!

oh my goodness. I'm in love with the first kitchen. the chandelier is simply divine. want it. xo
I agree with Caroline about the first kitchen, and I want to thank for being one of the few people on the internet who can actually spell divine correctly. :P
Oooh I'm into the second kitchen myself. I love all the different textures in wood, marbel and steel. Gorgrous!
I so love the second kitchen. I love all the textures.
I really like both these spaces.
Kitchens that veer towards the contemporary can be a gamble, but both of these are winners in my book.

I would love to have an 'industrial kitchen' too... I think they look so cool and strong! ... But, I would like to have one (especially the ones with open shelves) if I did have a maid everyday; or if I did not have a furry cat!
But, I still like them, anyway...
Just love the first one! The wooden floors and the - indeed Caroline: divine - chandelier make the industrial touch very homy...
I love the first one- a crystal chandelier and tufted sofa in the kitchen is pretty fantastic in my books. I also really want one of those gold ball pendants for somewhere in my house- love them!
Oh I love this style of kitchen, I don't think I could live with it, but I would like to be the kind of woman who can! Maybe a maid. There we have it, a maid.
all i can say is AMAZING
freaking awesome i love this
I've loved that Arctic Pear fixture for awhile, and finally found that Robbert Abbey makes a much more checkbook-friendly version: http://shadesoflight.com/deco-glam-chandelier.html
My husband and I just put in in our library in the bronze finish and it's gorgeous.
PERFECT! We are in the process of designing our kitchen renovation... this will prove most helpful! Perfect post, perfect timing.
The first kitchen is one of my favorites! There is something about the wood floors, open shelving and then the living room right there that make this space so genuine. What wonderful inspiration.
Have a great weekend!
This is very inspiring, I love the idea of wood floors in the kitchen. The chandelier is very chic!
That chandelier is great in the first kitchen. I love how open and raw the kitchen looks, then it's accessorized with pretty lighting!
i seriously can't stop staring at the first picture: the open kitchen, the wooden floor, the classic leather sofa, the glamorous chandelier...and all bathed in light. it simply couldn't be more perfect.
